MICHIYOSHI INOUE was born in Tokyo in 1946 and begun his piano studies in 1951.He also studied ballet for 10 years.At the age of 15 he decided on a career as a conductor.He studied at the Toho Academy of Music with Prof.H.Saitou. |
| 1970 | He became Associate Conductor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. |
| 1971 | He won First Prize in the Guido Cantelli Competition in Scala of Milano.Since then he has been conducting in many European countries both East and West,Australia,New Zealand,USA,USSR,Canada,Israel and South Africa. |
| 1976 | He returned to Tokyo conducting the Japan Philharmonic and Berliner Staats Kapelle on their tour of Japan. |
| 1977 | He was appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the New Zealand S.O.At Teatro alla Scala he conducted ballet productions such as bicentennial Stravinsky triple bill (1982)and Debussy memorial(1986)production and subscription symphony concerts. Since 1978 he has been conducting all Japanese important or orchestras and continuing guest conducting in Europe. |
| 1980 | He brought New Zealand S.O.to Hong Kong Festival. |
| 1983 | He was appointed General Music Director of the New Japan Philharmonic. |
| 1984 | He appeared on NHK TV every week regulary as conductor as well as personality. He started to appear in the operatic field in Tokyo such as Mozart:Figaro,Cosi fan Tutte,Don Givanni,Puccini:Butterfly, Mascagni:Iris. |
| 1985 | He toured with New Japan Philharmonic in Europe. He toured Europe with New Japan P.O. |
| 1986 | Opening concert of Suntory Hall in Tokyo.Also he appeared on NHK TV for 13 weeks.The Program on Beethoven Sym.No.9 sold 100,000 copies of textbooks. |
| 1987 | He made a highly successful debut with the Orchestra National de France in Paris. |
| 1988 | He made a triumphant debut with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London conducted Mahler Sym.No.6 was live recorded by Pony Canyon inc. Conducted Munchen Phil.,O.N.de France and N.O.P.in Paris. Recorded Mahler No.4 & 5,by Pony Canyon inc. |
| 1990 | He was appointed Music Director for Kyoto S.O.1993 He made American debut with Chicago S.O. (Mahler 9th Sym.)with so much success that he will be invited again for C.S.O.in 1994 with Mahler Sym.No.4. |
| 1994 | He directed and conducted Bernstein´s“Mass”stage performance for the Tokyo Art Festivalin October. He was invited again for C.S.O.with Mahler Sym.No.4. |
| 1995 | He substituted for Klaus Tennstedt and conducted Dresdner Philharmonie(Mahler Sym.No.6) |
