Ferry Cruising in Tango Amanohashidate Tour, Concert and More
In order to utilize a large ferry connecting Maizuru and Otaru, Hokkaido, as a tourist resource, Maizuru Tourist Association, Maizuru City, Kyoto, and Tango Area Tourism Campaign Council have planned the first "Maizuru-Tango Shuyu Cruise," or tour cruise around Maizuru and Tango. The tour by ferry around Amanohashidate and other locations will be held on September 23. Organizers are now advertising for participants.
On that day, Shin Nihonkai Ferry's vessel, Hamanasu, will set sail from Maejima Pier, Maizuru Port, at noon, and make a roughly three-hour tour to enjoy onboard viewing of the deeply-indented coastline of Maizuru Bay and Amanohashidate, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan. A brass band performance, a show of "Chattaman," the Maizuru local hero, and buffet style lunch featuring Hokkaido specialties are also provided onboard.
The fee for the cruise only is 4,800 yen for the first 450 applicants, junior high school students and above. The cruise fare including the buffet style lunch is 6,800 yen, for the first 300 applicants. Cabins are available at additional cost. Reservations can be made through Venus Travel at 06-6348-0571 (Japanese language inquiries only).
