Sightseeing Sites Crowded with Visitors
Autumn Tourist Season Arrives

Favored by good weather, Kyoto City sightseeing spots were crowded with tourists on October 4, the first Sunday of the month in which the autumn sightseeing season starts in earnest.

Kyoto had fantastic weather with this day's high temperature reaching 27.3 degrees Celsius, 2.6 degrees higher than an average year. It was hot enough to make people sweat, and many foreign tourists and students on school trips dressed in short-sleeved shirts could be seen around Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Higashiyama Ward.

Manami Masui, an office worker from Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, who was enjoying sightseeing in kimono with her friends, said, "This is my first visit to Kyoto since my junior high school trip. I love the city because here I feel time passes more slowly."
