Decorating Cake with Chocolate Kyoto Transportation Bureau's Valentine's Day Service
Prior to Valentine's Day, Kyoto Municipal Transportation Bureau began a service of adding decorative chocolate cream to "Mizuo no Yuzu Cheese," a cake sold in subway stations of the Kyoto City Subway Line.
The cakes, sold in packs of five for 900 yen, come with a nine-gram, pencil-shaped tube of chocolate. In addition to Kyoto and Shijo Stations where the cakes are usually sold, it is also available at a special booth installed in front of Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae Station.
Kyoto Municipal Transportation Bureau planned to take advantage of Valentine's Day business, expecting that the demand for confectionery other than chocolate would decline in February. The bureau said, "Please draw hearts with your boy friend, and enjoy Valentine's Day." The service will continue until February 13.
