Kyoto Aquarium and Umekoji SL Museum Hold Stamp Rally

Kyoto Aquarium and Umekoji Steam Locomotive Museum, both located in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, are holding a joint stamp rally. The idea is that a vivid Edo Period "Nishiki-e," or colored woodblock print, appears by collecting five stamps, which include a dolphin and a steam train.

This is the first time ever that the two facilities have put on an event together, and it is aimed for the spring holidays. Participants who visit three locations in Kyoto Aquarium and two locations in Umekoji Steam Locomotive Museum to get the stamps, which are parts of the same picture, and complete the Nishiki-e will receive a special clear file.

This stamp rally was conceived following good reviews for another stamp rally held by the museum during the Golden Week holiday in May. There are admission fees for each facility. The stamp rally will continue until March 31, although note that Umekoji Steam Locomotive Museum is closed on Mondays.
