"Hina" Festival Dolls, Utensils and Other Objects

The exhibition entitled "Collections from the Wang Yangming Library - Dolls of the Konoe Family" is currently being held at the Chado Research Center. The dolls and utensils displayed are for the "Hina Festival" and have been passed down through the Konoe family, who are descendants of Heian nobility. The Research Center is located just north of Horikawa-Teranouchi, in Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto.
The dolls on display -- treasured by successive generations of Konoe's feminine aristocracy -- are items from the Wang Yangming Library, which preserves and maintains the ancient archives and art objects passed down through the Konoe family.
