Floats Will be Exhibited.

An Uradeyama Float Exhibit has been opened in the Cultural Assets Exhibit Room of the Kyoto Mitsui Building Branch of Sakura Bank (Shijo-Karasuma, Shimogyo ward, Kyoto City).

On display is a collection of the decorations for the Uradeyama Mountain Float, one of the floats from the Gion Festival, including the "Thirty-six song Poets" Tapestry and the "Three Most Beautiful Landscapes of Japan" Tapestry. Sixty-seven items primarily from the Edo period will be on display, including a costume worn by the Empress Jingu doll, the woven Three Landscapes Tapestry, and gold ornaments.

The exhibit will run until February 15 and there is no admission fee. For questions, please call the Cultural assets Exhibit Room (075-231-8483).
